Pest Control FAQ

Have questions about pest control? Here are answers to the most common questions we hear from homeowners and businesses we serve. If you do not see your question here, contact us directly.

If you are seeing live pests, droppings, gnaw marks, ant trails, mud tubes, shed skins, webs, or damage to food packaging or wood, a professional inspection is worth it. Some pest problems — like termites and rodents — can go undetected for months while causing significant damage. When in doubt, an inspection gives you answers without commitment.

We treat ants, roaches, spiders, silverfish, earwigs, centipedes, millipedes, stink bugs, mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, bed bugs, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, mice, rats, and termites. If you are not sure what pest you have, contact us and we will help identify it.

Yes. We use products according to label directions and apply them in targeted areas. We will advise you on any precautions to follow before and after treatment, such as keeping pets off treated surfaces until they are dry.
For most general pest control services, you do not need to leave. For certain treatments — such as some bed bug services — you may need to vacate for a few hours. Your technician will provide specific instructions before the appointment.
Some pest activity in the days following treatment is normal. Many products work as the pest crosses treated surfaces, which takes time. Eggs may also hatch after treatment, producing new pests that need to contact the treated areas. If significant activity continues beyond a week or two, follow-up service may be needed.
For most homes, quarterly pest control provides consistent protection against seasonal pest pressure. Properties with heavier pest pressure, older construction, or locations near woods or water may benefit from monthly or bi-monthly service. We will recommend the right frequency based on your property and pest history.
A one-time treatment addresses a current pest issue. Recurring service provides ongoing protection by treating before pests return, refreshing exterior treatments each season, and monitoring for new activity. Recurring service is more cost-effective for properties with seasonal or persistent pest pressure.
Yes. Bed bug treatment involves thorough inspection, preparation instructions, targeted treatment of mattresses, box springs, furniture, and hiding spots, followed by a follow-up visit. Visit our bed bug treatment page for details.
Yes. We offer termite inspections and treatment options including liquid soil treatments, baiting systems, and monitoring. Visit our termite control page for more information.
No. Termites do not eat concrete. However, subterranean termites can build mud tubes over concrete foundation walls and slabs to reach wood framing, sill plates, floor joists, and other cellulose material above. Cracks and expansion joints in concrete can also provide hidden pathways.
Yes. We identify the stinging insect, treat the nest, and remove it when accessible. We also recommend exclusion work to prevent nesting in the same spot next season. Visit our wasp and hornet removal page for details.
We identify entry points during inspection and provide exclusion recommendations to seal gaps and close access. Some exclusion work may require coordination with a contractor for structural repairs.
For most general pest control visits, basic preparation includes clearing items from along baseboards where treatment will be applied, keeping pets secured, and making sure the technician can access the perimeter of the home. For specific services like bed bugs or rodents, we will provide detailed preparation instructions.
Seal entry points around your foundation, doors, windows, and utility lines. Fix leaks and reduce moisture. Store food properly and keep surfaces clean. Trim vegetation away from the structure. Keep mulch away from siding. Reduce clutter in storage areas. Follow any specific recommendations your technician provides.
Yes. Contact us for a free quote. We will ask about your pest issue, property type, and location, and provide a clear estimate based on what you describe. For complex problems, an on-site inspection may be recommended before quoting.
We serve homeowners and businesses throughout our local service area and nearby communities. Contact us to confirm service availability in your area.
We offer prompt scheduling and can often accommodate same-day or next-day service depending on availability. For urgent situations — like wasp nests near entrances or active rodent problems — let us know and we will prioritize your appointment.
Some DIY methods can help temporarily, but they rarely solve the source of the problem. Over-the-counter sprays kill visible pests on contact but do not reach nests, colonies, or hidden populations. DIY bed bug and rodent treatments have particularly low success rates. Professional treatment combined with prevention advice provides more reliable and lasting results.
We start with an inspection, not a spray nozzle. We identify the pest, find out how it got in, treat the problem based on what we find, and provide practical prevention advice. We do not use scare tactics, unnecessary upselling, or one-size-fits-all approaches. We explain what we see, what it means, and what needs to happen to fix it.
